Overview
We are looking for an an independent on-site construction inspector who represents the clients interest in doncaster. You you act as the 'eyes and ears' on the site, ensuring that building materials, workmanship and safety standards match the design specification, blueprint and legal requirements.
Duties
Majority of role is assistant engineer-style:
- Pre‑works site assessments
- Recommending and validating sites for surface dressing
- Measuring, marking, and preparing patching requirements
- Supporting programme planning
- Liaising with contractors
- Involves treatments such as surface dressing, micro‑asphalt, footway slurry, plus occasional involvement in winter service.
- Relevant preventative maintenance experience (surface dressing, micro‑asphalt, slurry surfacing, etc.)
- Contractor oversight, spec adherence, quality checking
- Multi‑project coordination
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Hold a level 3 qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline or have considerable experience in highways maintenance.
- Willingness & ability to obtain and enhance qualifications and training e.g., RSTA Silver certificates in Surface Dressing, Micro Asphalt etc.
Hours & Pay
- Monday - Friday
- 07:30- 16:30
- Starting range of £26.78P/H - £30.56P/H
- Weekly pay whilst through agency
